CERC Receives Recongition for Economic Development Marketing

The Connecticut Economic Resource Center, Inc. (CERC) has been recognized for excellence in economic development marketing in the 2009 Northeastern Economic Development Association (NEDA) Literature and Promotions Competition.  CERC, Connecticut’s nonprofit economic development corporation, which offers comprehensive marketing services to enhance state and local economic development initiatives, garnered four awards for both internal and external projects.  The awards were presented at NEDA’s annual conference held in Philadelphia, to honor organizations that utilize “best marketing practices” and effective communications work.

This year, CERC’s redesigned web site, produced by Meriden-based Web Solutions, scored an “excellent” ranking in the Internet Homepage category and the 2008 CERC Conference Proceedings received a “merit”in the Annual Report category. Two of CERC’s client projects were given “merit” dinstinctions in the Print Ad Campaign and Internet Homepage categories respectiviely – an insert featuring the Small Business Development Center in this year’s Small Business Administration guide, and CTEarlyChildhood.org, designed in conjunction with Web Solutions for the state’s Early Childhood Investment Initiative.
 
“I am pleased that CERC’s work has been recognized once again by NEDA and their judging panel of economic development professionals.  We take great pride in producing consistent, quality work for ourselves and our clients,” said Robert Santy, CERC President and CEO.

Entries were judged by a panel of economic development and marketing professionals using a point rating system based on: design and layout, clarity of message, production quality, functionality and overall creativity and impact.  Entries were submitted from economic development professionals in the 11 Northeastern states, and this year, according to NEDA officials, well over 100 entries were considered.
