The Connecticut Economic Resource Center, Inc. (CERC) is proud to announce that Alissa DeJonge, assistant director of research, was recently accepted into the Partnership for Strong Communities’ Leadership Development Roundtable (LDR) Program.
The program is a learning series designed to build participants’ capacities to manage and lead nonprofit organizations and to expand their networks of contacts. The LDR is a “learn through doing” opportunity geared to prepare nonprofit leaders to meet the anticipated demand for social sector leaders: across the nation, it is estimated that close to 1 million new nonprofit leaders will be needed over the next decade.
“The Leadership Development Roundtable cultivates the passion and builds the skills of mission-driven emerging leaders. Strong nonprofit organizations should see this as a unique opportunity for their organizations to grow the talent of key staff members who aspire to manage and lead effective change,” said Diane Randall, Executive Director, Partnership for Strong Communities.
DeJonge, a Middletown resident, has been employed by CERC for 10 years and is a past president of the Hartford Area Business Economists (HABE) and a current board member of the board of trustees for Mercy High School. She earned her master’s degree in international and development economics from Yale University and her bachelor’s degree in economics from Boston College.
“Alissa is a tremendous asset to CERC and our mission to help Connecticut be competitive. Her efforts to continue growing her leadership skills, coupled with her already strong talents, will benefit not only CERC but our clients and partners as well,” said Bob Santy, president and CEO of CERC.
About CERC Based in Rocky Hill, The Connecticut Economic Resource Center, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation and public-private partnership that provides clients with objective research, marketing and economic development services consistent with our mission of making Connecticut a more competitive business environment.
